Battle of Harlaw
The Battle of Harlaw took place on July 24, 1411, near Inverurie in Scotland. It was fought between the forces of Donald, Lord of the Isles, and the army of King James I of Scotland. The battle arose from a power struggle over control of the Highlands and the Western Isles.
Despite being a fierce conflict, the battle ended inconclusively, with heavy casualties on both sides. The outcome did not significantly alter the political landscape, but it highlighted the ongoing tensions between the Scottish crown and the clans, particularly the MacDonald clan, led by Donald.
