Battle of Bautzen
The Battle of Bautzen took place from May 20 to May 21, 1813, during the War of the Sixth Coalition. It was fought between the forces of the French Empire, led by Napoleon Bonaparte, and the coalition armies of Prussia and Russia. The battle was significant as it marked a temporary victory for Napoleon, allowing him to maintain control over parts of Saxony.
Despite the French success, the battle did not lead to a decisive outcome in the war. The coalition forces regrouped and continued their efforts against Napoleon, ultimately leading to his defeat later that year. The Battle of Bautzen highlighted the resilience of the coalition forces and foreshadowed the challenges Napoleon would face.
