Battle of Alamana
The Battle of Alamana took place on April 21, 1836, during the Texas Revolution. It was a significant conflict between the Texian forces, led by James Fannin, and the Mexican army under General José de Urrea. The battle occurred near the Alamana River in present-day Texas, where the Texians were ultimately defeated.
Following the battle, many Texian soldiers were captured and executed in what became known as the Goliad Massacre. This event fueled anti-Mexican sentiment and rallied support for the Texian cause, contributing to the eventual victory at the Battle of San Jacinto later that year.
