Battle Of the Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo took place from February 23 to March 6, 1836, during the Texas Revolution. A group of Texan defenders, including notable figures like James Bowie and Davy Crockett, fought against the Mexican army led by General Santa Anna. The battle was fought at the Alamo, a former mission in San Antonio, Texas, and became a symbol of resistance for Texan independence.
Despite the valiant efforts of the defenders, the Mexican forces overran the Alamo after a 13-day siege. The battle resulted in the deaths of all the Texan defenders, but it inspired many to join the fight for Texas independence, leading to the eventual victory at the Battle of San Jacinto.
