Baseball History
Baseball originated in the early 19th century in the United States, evolving from various bat-and-ball games. The first recorded game took place in 1846 in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Knickerbocker Base Ball Club formalized the rules, leading to the establishment of organized baseball.
In 1869, the first professional team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings, was formed, marking the beginning of professional leagues. The National League was established in 1876, followed by the American League in 1901. Over the years, baseball has grown into a major sport, culminating in the annual World Series to determine the champion of Major League Baseball.
