Bartholomew Roberts
Bartholomew Roberts was a famous Welsh pirate who operated during the early 18th century, often referred to as the "Golden Age of Piracy." He was born in 1682 and became one of the most successful pirates of his time, capturing over 400 ships during his career. Roberts was known for his flamboyant style and strict code of conduct among his crew.
Roberts began his piracy in 1719 after being forced into it when his ship was captured. He quickly gained a reputation for his daring raids in the Caribbean Sea and along the West African coast. His life ended in 1722 when he was killed in a battle with the British Navy.
