Barremian
The Barremian is a stage in the Early Cretaceous period, occurring approximately 129 to 125 million years ago. It follows the Hauterivian stage and precedes the Aptian stage. This time is characterized by significant geological and biological changes, including the diversification of dinosaurs and the emergence of new marine life.
During the Barremian, the climate was generally warm, promoting the growth of lush vegetation. Fossil evidence from this period shows a variety of ammonites and bivalves, indicating thriving marine ecosystems. The Barremian is also notable for the development of early flowering plants, which would later play a crucial role in terrestrial ecosystems.
