Barnard's Star
Barnard's Star is a red dwarf star located about 5.96 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Ophiuchus. It is one of the closest stars to our solar system and is known for its high proper motion, moving across the sky faster than any other star.
Discovered by Edward Emerson Barnard in 1916, Barnard's Star is approximately 14 times less luminous than the Sun and has a surface temperature of around 3,100 Kelvin. It is estimated to be about 10 billion years old, making it one of the oldest stars in our neighborhood.
