Barite
Barite is a mineral composed of barium sulfate (BaSO4). It typically forms in sedimentary rocks and is often found in hydrothermal veins. Barite is known for its high density and is commonly used in the oil and gas industry as a weighting agent in drilling fluids to prevent blowouts.
In addition to its industrial uses, barite can also be found in various colors, including white, yellow, and blue. It is often associated with other minerals such as calcite and quartz. Barite is also used in the production of barium chemicals and as a filler in products like paint and rubber.
