Bangla Literature
Bangla Literature refers to the body of written works in the Bengali language, primarily from the region of Bengal, which includes parts of modern-day Bangladesh and India. It encompasses various genres, including poetry, novels, short stories, and plays, reflecting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Bengali people.
The literary tradition began in the medieval period with poets like Chandidas and Jayadeva. The 19th and 20th centuries saw significant developments, with notable figures such as Rabindranath Tagore, the first non-European Nobel laureate in Literature, who contributed immensely to poetry, music, and prose.
