Earle Dickson
Earle Dickson was an American inventor best known for creating the first adhesive bandage, commonly known as a Band-Aid. He developed this product in 1920 while working for the Johnson & Johnson company. His invention was inspired by his wife, who frequently injured herself while cooking, prompting him to find a convenient way to cover her wounds.
Dickson's adhesive bandage consisted of a strip of fabric with a piece of gauze in the center, covered with a sticky material. This simple yet effective design revolutionized first aid and made it easier for people to treat minor cuts and scrapes at home. Today, Band-Aids are a staple in medicine cabinets worldwide.
