Baltic Air Policing
Baltic Air Policing is a NATO mission that began in 2004 to ensure the air security of the Baltic States—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. These countries do not have their own air defense capabilities, so NATO allies provide air policing to monitor and protect their airspace from potential threats.
The mission involves deploying fighter jets from various NATO member countries to conduct regular patrols. These aircraft are stationed at Zokniai Air Base in Lithuania and Amari Air Base in Estonia. The operation helps maintain a visible NATO presence in the region and reassures the Baltic States of their security commitments.
