Baldwin VI of Flanders was a medieval nobleman born around 1180. He became the Count of Flanders in 1194 after the death of his father, Baldwin V. His reign was marked by political challenges, including conflicts with neighboring territories and internal disputes among the nobility. Baldwin VI was known for his efforts to strengthen the economy of Flanders, particularly through trade. He also played a role in the Crusades, supporting military campaigns in the Holy Land. His rule ended with his death in 1206, after which his daughter, Joan of Flanders, succeeded him.
