Baldwin I of Jerusalem
Baldwin I of Jerusalem was a key figure in the early history of the Crusader states. Born around 1058, he became the first king of the Kingdom of Jerusalem after the First Crusade. He ruled from 1100 until his death in 1118, establishing a strong Christian presence in the region.
During his reign, Baldwin I expanded his territory through military campaigns and strategic alliances. He successfully captured important cities, including Jerusalem, and worked to strengthen the kingdom's defenses against Muslim forces.
