Baker River Hydroelectric Project
The Baker River Hydroelectric Project is located in Washington State and harnesses the power of the Baker River to generate electricity. Operated by Puget Sound Energy, the project consists of two main dams: the Upper Baker Dam and the Lower Baker Dam. Together, they produce renewable energy that contributes to the region's power supply.
The project began operations in the mid-20th century and has a total generating capacity of about 200 megawatts. It plays a significant role in providing clean energy while also supporting local ecosystems through careful management of water flows and fish habitats in the Skagit River basin.
