Baked Potato
A baked potato is a whole potato that is cooked by baking it in an oven until the skin is crispy and the inside is soft. Typically, the potato is washed, sometimes pricked with a fork, and then placed directly on the oven rack or in a baking dish. Common types of potatoes used for baking include Russet and Yukon Gold.
Baked potatoes can be served plain or topped with various ingredients such as butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, or bacon bits. They are a popular side dish and can also be a filling main course when loaded with toppings.
