Badin Dam
Badin Dam is a significant earth-fill dam located in the Badin District of Sindh, Pakistan. Completed in 1976, it serves multiple purposes, including irrigation, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation. The dam is built on the Indus River and plays a crucial role in managing water resources in the region.
The reservoir created by the dam, known as Keenjhar Lake, is the largest freshwater lake in Sindh. It supports local agriculture by providing irrigation water and helps in maintaining the ecological balance. Additionally, the dam contributes to the local economy by generating electricity and supporting fishing activities in the lake.
