B.F. Westcott
B.F. Westcott, or Brooke Foss Westcott, was a prominent English theologian and biblical scholar born in 1825. He is best known for his work on the New Testament, particularly his role in the Westcott-Hort Greek New Testament, which aimed to provide a more accurate text based on earlier manuscripts. His contributions significantly influenced modern biblical studies.
In addition to his scholarly work, Westcott served as the Bishop of Durham from 1890 until his death in 1901. He was also involved in various educational initiatives, promoting the study of theology and the importance of critical scholarship in understanding the Christian faith.
