Averell Harriman
Averell Harriman was an American businessman and politician born on November 15, 1891. He was a prominent figure in the Democratic Party and served as the Governor of New York from 1955 to 1958. Harriman was also known for his role as a diplomat during and after World War II, contributing to international relations and post-war reconstruction efforts.
In addition to his political career, Harriman was a successful financier and played a significant role in the development of the Union Pacific Railroad.
