Austro-Hungarian Emperors
The Austro-Hungarian Emperors were the rulers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which existed from 1867 to 1918. This dual monarchy was formed when the Austrian Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary united under a single monarch. The emperors held significant power over diverse ethnic groups and territories, including Bohemia, Galicia, and Transylvania.
The most notable emperors included Franz Joseph I, who reigned for 68 years, and Charles I, the last emperor, who faced challenges during World War I. The empire ultimately dissolved after the war, leading to the establishment of several independent nations in Central and Eastern Europe.
