Austrian State Treaty
The Austrian State Treaty was signed on May 15, 1955, in Vienna, marking the end of the occupation of Austria after World War II. This agreement was made between the four Allied powers: the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Soviet Union. It restored Austria's sovereignty and declared it a neutral country, prohibiting any military alliances.
The treaty also established the framework for Austria's political and economic independence. It required the withdrawal of foreign troops and set the stage for Austria to become a stable, democratic nation. The Austrian State Treaty is considered a significant milestone in post-war European history.
