Australian fur seal
The Australian fur seal is a marine mammal found primarily along the southern coast of Australia and on nearby islands. They are known for their thick fur, which helps keep them warm in cold waters. Adult males can weigh up to 300 kilograms, while females are smaller, averaging around 50 kilograms.
These seals are social animals, often seen in large colonies on rocky shores or beaches. They primarily feed on fish and squid, using their keen eyesight to hunt underwater. The Australian fur seal is a protected species, and conservation efforts are in place to ensure their populations remain stable.
