Augustus III of Poland
Augustus III of Poland was a king who ruled from 1734 to 1763. He was born on January 17, 1696, in Dresden, Germany, and was the son of Augustus II the Strong. Augustus III was also the Elector of Saxony, and his reign was marked by political instability and conflicts, including the War of the Austrian Succession.
During his rule, Augustus III focused on strengthening the arts and culture in Poland, promoting the Baroque style. He established the University of Warsaw and supported various artistic endeavors. However, his reign faced challenges from the Confederation of Bar and other factions, leading to a decline in royal power.
