Augustus Bulleit
Augustus Bulleit was an American entrepreneur known for founding the Bulleit Bourbon brand. He began distilling whiskey in the 1830s, using a unique recipe that included a high rye content, which contributed to its distinctive flavor. Bulleit’s passion for whiskey led him to create a product that would eventually gain popularity and recognition.
After disappearing in 1860, Augustus Bulleit’s legacy continued through his family. The brand was revived in the 1990s by his great-great-grandson, Tom Bulleit, who honored Augustus's original recipe. Today, Bulleit Bourbon is celebrated for its quality and is widely available in bars and stores across the United States.
