Audio Sampling
Audio sampling is the process of converting sound waves into digital data by taking discrete measurements at regular intervals. This allows for the representation of audio in a format that can be easily manipulated, stored, and played back by electronic devices. The quality of the sampled audio depends on the sampling rate, which is the number of samples taken per second, typically measured in kilohertz (kHz).
In music production, audio sampling is often used to create new sounds or incorporate existing recordings into new compositions. This technique is widely utilized in genres like hip-hop and electronic music, where artists may sample snippets from songs, dialogues, or sound effects to enhance their tracks.
