Association of Black Psychologists
The Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi) is a professional organization founded in 1968 to address the unique mental health needs of the Black community. It aims to promote the psychological well-being of African Americans and other people of African descent through research, education, and advocacy. ABPsi also works to increase the representation of Black psychologists in the field.
ABPsi provides resources, training, and support for mental health professionals, while also engaging in community outreach. The organization emphasizes culturally relevant practices and seeks to challenge systemic barriers affecting mental health services. Through its initiatives, ABPsi fosters a network of professionals dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for the Black community.
