National Black Nurses Association
The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) is a professional organization founded in 1971 to advocate for the interests of Black nurses and to promote health equity in communities of color. It aims to address the unique challenges faced by Black nurses in the healthcare system and to enhance their professional development through education, networking, and mentorship.
The NBNA also focuses on improving health outcomes for African American populations by engaging in community outreach and health education initiatives.
