Asiatic cheetah
The Asiatic cheetah is a critically endangered subspecies of the cheetah, primarily found in Iran. It is smaller and lighter than its African counterpart, with a distinctive coat featuring narrow black spots. This cheetah is adapted for speed, capable of reaching up to 70 miles per hour in short bursts, making it one of the fastest land animals.
Historically, the Asiatic cheetah roamed across parts of the Middle East and India, but habitat loss and poaching have drastically reduced its population. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this unique subspecies and its remaining habitats, aiming to prevent its extinction.
