Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas
The Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas are a group of eighteen sacred shrines dedicated to the goddess Shakti, representing her divine feminine energy. These sites are believed to be places where parts of the body of the goddess Sati fell, according to Hindu mythology, when she self-immolated. Each peetha is associated with specific powers and is revered by devotees seeking blessings and spiritual fulfillment.
These shrines are spread across the Indian subcontinent, with notable locations in West Bengal, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Pilgrims visit these sites to pay homage and participate in rituals, believing that the energy of the goddess can provide protection, healing, and empowerment in their lives.
