Asanga was an influential Buddhist philosopher and monk who lived in the 4th century CE in India. He is best known for founding the Yogācāra school of Mahayana Buddhism, which emphasizes the role of consciousness in the perception of reality. Asanga's teachings focus on the nature of the mind and the importance of meditation for achieving enlightenment.
He is also credited with composing several key texts, including the Yogācārabhūmi and the Abhidharma-samuccaya.
