Armored BCTs
Armored Brigade Combat Teams (ABCTs) are a key component of the United States Army's combined arms forces. They are designed to engage in direct combat and are equipped with heavy armor, including tanks like the M1 Abrams, and infantry fighting vehicles such as the Bradley. ABCTs are capable of operating in various terrains and are trained to conduct offensive and defensive operations.
Each ABCT typically consists of several battalions, including armored, infantry, and support units. This structure allows for a flexible response to different combat scenarios. The integration of various combat arms within an ABCT enhances its effectiveness on the battlefield, making it a formidable force in modern warfare.
