Argentine Civil Wars
The Argentine Civil Wars were a series of conflicts in Argentina during the 19th century, primarily between the Unitarians and Federalists. The wars began after Argentina gained independence from Spain in 1810 and lasted until the 1860s. The Unitarian faction sought a centralized government, while the Federalists favored provincial autonomy.
Key battles included the Battle of Cepeda in 1820 and the Battle of Caseros in 1852. These conflicts led to significant political instability and social upheaval. Ultimately, the wars contributed to the establishment of a more unified Argentine nation under the Constitution of 1853.
