Argali sheep
The Argali sheep is a large wild sheep species found in the mountainous regions of Central Asia, particularly in countries like Mongolia, Tibet, and Kazakhstan. Known for their impressive curved horns, which can grow up to 1.5 meters long, these animals are well-adapted to rugged terrains and harsh climates. They primarily inhabit alpine meadows and rocky slopes, where they graze on grasses and shrubs.
Argali sheep are social animals, often found in herds that can range from a few individuals to over a hundred. They play a crucial role in their ecosystem by helping to maintain vegetation balance. Due to habitat loss and hunting, Argali sheep are considered vulnerable, and conservation efforts are in place to protect their populations.
