Arctiidae
The family Arctiidae, commonly known as tiger moths, includes a diverse group of moths found worldwide. They are characterized by their vibrant colors and patterns, which often serve as a warning to predators about their potential toxicity. Many species have distinctive furry bodies and are active during the night.
Tiger moths undergo complete metamorphosis, transitioning from eggs to larvae, then pupae, and finally to adult moths. The larvae, known as caterpillars, are often hairy and can be found feeding on a variety of plants. Some species are also known for their unique sound-producing abilities, which help deter predators.
