Arctic Terns
The Arctic Tern is a small seabird known for its remarkable migratory journey. It breeds in the northern regions, including parts of Greenland and Iceland, and travels thousands of miles to winter in the Antarctic. This bird is recognized for its slender body, long wings, and distinctive black cap on its head.
Arctic Terns are excellent fliers, capable of reaching speeds up to 40 miles per hour. They primarily feed on small fish and invertebrates, which they catch by diving into the water. Their unique migration pattern makes them one of the species with the longest migration routes in the animal kingdom.
