Araw Ng Kalayaan
Araw Ng Kalayaan, or Independence Day, is celebrated in the Philippines every June 12. This day commemorates the declaration of Philippine independence from Spanish rule in 1898. The event is marked by various activities, including parades, flag-raising ceremonies, and cultural performances, showcasing the country's rich history and heritage.
The declaration was made by Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippines, in his house in Kawit, Cavite. Araw Ng Kalayaan serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Filipino heroes in the struggle for freedom and the importance of national unity and pride.
