Apache Point Observatory
Apache Point Observatory is an astronomical research facility located in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico, USA. Established in 1986, it is operated by the Sunspot Solar Observatory and is known for its high-altitude location, which provides clear skies and minimal atmospheric interference for astronomical observations.
The observatory features several telescopes, including the Apache Point 3.5-meter Telescope, which is used for a variety of research projects, such as studying distant galaxies and exoplanets. It also plays a key role in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, a major astronomical survey that maps the universe and collects data on millions of celestial objects.
