Antonio Ascari
Antonio Ascari was an Italian racing driver born on July 13, 1888, in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italy. He is best known for his success in the early years of Grand Prix racing, particularly in the 1920s. Ascari drove for the Alfa Romeo team and achieved notable victories, including the 1925 Italian Grand Prix.
Tragically, Ascari's career was cut short when he died in a racing accident on June 26, 1925, during a race at Monza. His legacy continues through his son, Alberto Ascari, who became a two-time Formula One World Champion, further solidifying the family's impact on motorsport.
