Antinous
Antinous was a young Greek boy from Bithynia, known for his beauty and close relationship with the Roman Emperor Hadrian. He became a prominent figure in ancient history after his untimely death in 130 AD during a trip to Egypt. Hadrian was deeply affected by Antinous's passing and honored him in various ways.
In memory of Antinous, Hadrian established the city of Antinopolis in Egypt and commissioned numerous statues and artworks depicting him. Antinous was later deified, becoming a symbol of beauty and youth in Roman culture, and his image was widely used in art and coinage throughout the empire.
