Antimonides
Antimonides are chemical compounds formed between the element antimony and a more electropositive element, typically a metal. These compounds often exhibit interesting electrical and thermal properties, making them useful in various applications, including semiconductors and thermoelectric materials.
One of the most studied antimonides is gallium antimonide (GaSb), which is used in infrared detectors and high-speed electronic devices. Antimonides can also be found in other forms, such as indium antimonide (InSb), known for its high electron mobility, making it valuable in advanced electronic and optoelectronic applications.
