Anterior Tibial
The anterior tibial refers to a muscle and artery located in the front part of the lower leg. The anterior tibial muscle is responsible for dorsiflexion, which is the action of lifting the foot upwards. This muscle plays a crucial role in walking, running, and maintaining balance.
The anterior tibial artery is a major blood vessel that supplies oxygenated blood to the lower leg and foot. It branches off from the popliteal artery and runs down the front of the leg, eventually becoming the dorsalis pedis artery at the ankle. Proper function of both the muscle and artery is essential for lower limb mobility and health.
