Anteosaurus
Anteosaurus was a large, prehistoric reptile that lived during the late Permian period, around 260 million years ago. It belonged to a group called therapsids, which are often considered ancestors of mammals. Anteosaurus had a robust body, strong limbs, and a large skull with sharp teeth, indicating it was a carnivorous predator.
This creature was primarily found in what is now South Africa. Anteosaurus is notable for its size, reaching lengths of up to 3 meters (10 feet). Its adaptations suggest it was well-suited for hunting other animals in its environment, contributing to its role in the ancient ecosystem.
