Anolis Carolinensis
Anolis carolinensis, commonly known as the green anole, is a small lizard native to the southeastern United States. It typically measures 5 to 8 inches in length and is known for its vibrant green color, which can change to brown depending on its environment and temperature. This species is often found in trees, shrubs, and gardens, where it hunts insects and other small invertebrates.
Green anoles are known for their distinctive throat flap, or dewlap, which males use to attract females and establish territory. They are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day, and are excellent climbers, using their specialized toe pads to navigate their arboreal habitats.
