Anneliese
Anneliese was a young German woman born on September 21, 1952. She is best known for her tragic story involving mental health struggles and a controversial exorcism. Anneliese suffered from severe psychiatric issues, including epilepsy and psychosis, which led her to seek help from both medical professionals and religious figures.
In 1976, after experiencing distressing symptoms, Anneliese underwent a series of exorcisms performed by two Roman Catholic priests. Unfortunately, her condition worsened, and she died on July 1, 1976. Her case raised significant ethical and legal questions regarding the treatment of mental illness and the role of religious practices in such situations.
