Anne of Austria
Anne of Austria was a Spanish princess born on September 22, 1601, in Madrid. She became the queen consort of Louis XIII of France after their marriage in 1615. As a member of the Habsburg dynasty, her union was part of a political alliance between Spain and France.
Anne served as regent for her son, Louis XIV, after her husband's death in 1643. Her reign was marked by political challenges and the influence of powerful advisors like Cardinal Mazarin. Despite these difficulties, she played a crucial role in shaping the early years of her son's rule and the future of France.
