Anne Catherine of Brandenburg
Anne Catherine of Brandenburg was a German noblewoman born in 1487. She was the daughter of John Cicero, Elector of Brandenburg and Margaret of Thuringia. In 1509, she married Duke Henry IV of Mecklenburg, strengthening the ties between their noble families.
As a duchess, Anne Catherine played a significant role in the political landscape of her time. She was known for her piety and support of the Lutheran Reformation. Anne Catherine passed away in 1557, leaving behind a legacy of influence in both her family and the broader religious movements of the era.
