Annapurna Conservation Area
The Annapurna Conservation Area is a protected region in Nepal, covering approximately 7,629 square kilometers. It is home to diverse ecosystems, ranging from lush subtropical forests to alpine meadows, and includes the famous Annapurna Mountain Range, which features some of the highest peaks in the world, including Annapurna I.
Established in 1992, the conservation area aims to preserve the unique biodiversity and cultural heritage of the region. It supports various wildlife species, such as the snow leopard and red panda, while also promoting sustainable tourism and local community development through trekking and eco-friendly initiatives.
