Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu (Saint)
Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, widely known as Mother Teresa, was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, now part of North Macedonia. She became a Roman Catholic nun and missionary, dedicating her life to serving the poor and sick. In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity, an organization focused on helping the most marginalized people around the world.
Mother Teresa was recognized for her humanitarian work and received numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church on September 4, 2016, in recognition of her selfless service and commitment to compassion.
