Angola Prison
Angola Prison, officially known as the Louisiana State Penitentiary, is the largest maximum-security prison in the United States. Located in Angola, Louisiana, it covers over 18,000 acres and houses around 2,000 inmates. The prison is named after the former Angola Plantation, where many of the inmates were once enslaved.
