Anglo-Mysore Wars
The Anglo-Mysore Wars were a series of four conflicts fought between the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Mysore in the late 18th century. The wars were primarily driven by territorial expansion and power struggles in southern India, with key figures like Tipu Sultan and his father, Hyder Ali, leading the Mysore forces against British interests.
The first war began in 1767 and ended in 1769, while the subsequent wars occurred in 1780-1784, 1790-1792, and 1799. The conflicts ultimately resulted in the defeat of Mysore, leading to British dominance in southern India and significant territorial gains for the British East India Company.
